The Gabel Wedding.
When I first met with Cathy and Drew, I knew their wedding was going to be a blast! so meaningful and a dream for a documentary wedding photographer!
He is a farmer with an incredible garden, makes homemade brews. She’s a cheese connoisseur who commutes to work on her scooter! During one of their first dates together, Cathy wanted to surprise Drew with a blueberry pie! He loved it so much that he proposed to her with a pie that said ‘Marry Me!’ The entire wedding is so full of details that made their wedding so true to them. In lieu of cake, they served a variety of pies which were absolutely delicious! Their save the date card was a block portrait created by the groom. A backyard ceremony overlooking the green covered hills of Castro Valley, California and a twisty organic floral adorned trellis made by the groom and his father. At sunset we tripped up the hill above the reception for some beautiful sunset photos, the hills as a backdrop, an aerial view of the extra long tables and their guests enjoying their time. The Red Barn wedding reception, market lights galore, a custom built dance floor by the grooms father, Home Brew for their guests, vibrant florals by his sister @erinceeg, red roosters, chickens on the side, an extensive array of cheeseboard, tacos!! fire pits and a pitchfork! Not to mention a great group of friends with some killer dance moves and the Brides badass Scooter sendoff!!
It was definitely a wedding to remember! and I’m so honored to have gotten to capture it!
